Tour of the two volcanic lakes and the villages of Castel Gandolfo and Nemi
Morning: Pick up at the train station of Castel Gandolfo, meeting with tour leader and driver and transfer to the Castel Gandolfo village to visit the Vatican Gardens and the Apostolic Palace.
Afterward, coffee and/or dessert and walk in the old town with wonderful views of the lake and meeting with local artisans and artists.
Then, transfer to the “Lago Albano” of Castel Gandolfo and Naturalistic and Cultural Tour of the lake by boat with narration of the volcanic origin of the lake, the history of the territory and of the surrounding prehistoric and Roman archaeological sites.
Afterward, transfer to Lake Nemi and lunch at a restaurant with local fish and delicacies. Wide choice also for vegetarians/vegans.
Afternoon: Guided tour of the Museum of Roman Ships (with the huge ships that sailed the small lake). Afterward, visit an organic farm with a splendid view of the lake and tasting of their ancient roses flavored syrup.
Then, we will move to the ancient village of Nemi and take a walk through its alleys with the opportunity to enjoy a dessert made with local wild strawberries.
This tour includes: visit of the Vatican Gardens by ecological bus or on foot; visit of the Apostolic Palace; lunch; transfer from and to Castel Gandolfo train station, to and from the village and lake of Castel Gandolfo; transfer from Castel Gandolfo to Lake Nemi, transfer from Lake Nemi to Nemi village, transfer from Nemi to Castel Gandolfo station/hotel.
